In the first series, it was almost as if it was all a delusion/dream and represented his internal struggle with his own nature.

If I remember rightly however, it seemed pretty solid fact by the end of the 2nd series... I may be wrong.

I'm conflicted about Covenant too. I've read all of them, but years ago. The first book of that series is possibly the worst, because it's the one where the main character is essentially a bastard. From memory he spends the rest of the series apologising to people and trying to save the world to make up for it.

Chuck, Simon actually owns a few Magic novels that he got free at some stage. I have seen them on his shelf but even he will not admit to actually having read them. And he owns all the Dune sequels and prequels, so you know his standards are low.

Slowly Quiztas raised his head, shaking off the damage his opponent's elvish warriors had done. As he looked out across the field he could see the elves lined up to protect their evil master. He knew they would attack again, the battle would end soon one way or the other. Quiztas was running out of options, only 2 spells were rattling around in a head that could normally hold 7.

Getting to his feet, Quiztas glanced towards the forests where his foe gained his power. Yes! All 5 groves of trees were lying on their sides as if a giant hand had flattened them. The trees would recover, but for now their power could not be called upon to help Quiztas enemy. Emboldened, Quiztas drained 3 nearby swamps has he gathered his power around him...

Are you defending Thomas Covenant?

Worst review of Thomas Covenant ever.

And I really must get around to reading a Magic novel, convinced it will be "And then thomas drew a card, and breathed a sign of relief as he saw "Lightning Bolt", quickly he counted his mana and remaining calm, asked Tanya how much life she had".

And the reason its a fantasy novel, is theres a female playing.

This like is way too conflicted imho. 'The Wind Up Bird Chronicle' is an interesting read though and I guess it qualifies as Fantasy.
