T.B. Wells, well I get that. That you don't bash it. But media seems to do a poor job. Some people point out cheap plans (that the uninsured should be able to buy) but fails to realize that they already pay as much through the government (federal, state or local) as the nordic countries do for there universal care. Health care is not the reason why taxes are high in the nordic countries, we could get by with just an 11% wage tax if that is all we would finance. Badly run health care costs way more money though. And we don't give privately collected money to our public schools like they has to in the US, private schools are paid through taxes too this will show up on the taxes but not in our overall purchasing power. The US public should really examine the claim that "private businesses is always more efficient" as they operate by the market and rules created by law and society or lack there of. Whichever form of ownership they are under. Laissez faire shouldn't mean your not creating legislation for a working market. That's really what I'm against. In the end it's really about human rights.

T.B. Wells, are they? I don't think people realize your paying as much through the government by percent of GNI and in terms of dollars as European countries (you know those with the highest taxes in the world) with the exception of the few like Switzerland. (Which pays more). Your airways are just filled with misinformation. Public health care has reinvented itself several times since it's inception and don't look the same in all places. And yes it performs better then the badly managed and bureaucratic system in US, less people die as a result, more doctors and nurses are hired for overall less cost. We got plenty of MRIs and CT machines too. And Mammography exams are done on a mass scale. In worse case scenario the state actually pays for medical treatment abroad, (well for countries which arrangements exist with any way), which can even be highly experimental treatment you can't get in the US.

Don't shoot the messenger! It is not the U.S. media bashing national health care---- well, at least not the reporters--the pundits maybe. It is clear the country is divided but the reporters are doing their job--reporting the news.

Thanks for the mention Andrew. I linked back to your site. I'm sure between the two of us we will drive enough traffic to take down the net! I doubt that would be enough to make the US media stop bashing national health care.
