I Write Like Arthur C. Clarke (Apparently)

July 19, 2010 – 1:52 pm

I Write Like is a website that analyses a sample of writing and finds the closest match to a famous author’s style. Running through a couple of my favourite entries from this blog gives the following result:

I write like
Arthur C. Clarke

I Write Like by Mémoires, Mac journal software. Analyze your writing!

Could be worse. I did read an awful lot of Arthur C. Clarke’s output when I was younger so I supposed it rubbed off on me.

  3. I am confused, I pasted a work document, and it said I write like Cory Doctorow. Then I pasted an email and it said I write like Stephen King.

Clearly my emails are much simpler and feature obvious plot devices.

  4. You write like Stephen King? Taking 1600 pages to tell a 400 page story? Still, there are worse writers out there.

I’m just glad it didn’t say I write like a collaboration between Arthur C. Clarke and Gentry Lee, because those books were awful.
